Refund Policy

At Singing Pines Cottage, we want to make the rental process clear and straightforward. This Refund Policy outlines how security deposits and rental payments are handled in accordance with our rental agreement.

1. Eligibility

The registered renter must be 21 years of age or older. The renter is responsible for providing the required information and documentation and for ensuring that all occupants follow the rental terms and property rules.

2. Rental Dates & Occupancy

The renter will have sole use of the property during the agreed check-in and check-out dates.

The property has a maximum renter limit of six people.

The owners may access the property during the rental period in the event of an emergency or complaint. Prior notice will be provided when access is required for repairs or maintenance where possible.

3. Payment & Security Deposit

A $500 security/reservation deposit is required to secure the rental dates.

The full rental balance is due two weeks before the rental start date. If the balance is not paid in full by the required deadline, the rental agreement becomes void and the $500 deposit will not be returned.

The rental agreement lists the standard rates as:

$250 per night
$1,500 per week
13% HST

4. Property Damage

Guests are responsible for treating the cottage, furnishings, equipment, outdoor areas, and other property with care. Damage caused by negligence may be charged against the security deposit. Where damage exceeds the security deposit, additional costs may be sought as provided for in the rental agreement. This also applies to damage or loss involving provided recreational equipment, such as the kayak, paddle board, safety equipment, and other amenities.

5. Cancellation Policy

The current rental agreement does not specify a separate cancellation schedule or general refund terms for cancellations made before the rental date. Any cancellation or refund request should therefore be discussed directly with the owners and will be handled according to the terms of the applicable rental agreement.
